I bought this documentary about two years ago and just watched it again. The opening scene is terrific - a fantastic plane ride over the Appalachian mountains in Kentucky. Appalachia is one of those mystical places to me ... like New Orleans, Paris, Siberia or Giza. Shelby Lee Adam's portraits are simply beautiful.
